
Mr. Ulrich holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Saint Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin, a Master’s of Arts in Education from San Francisco State University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from National University in La Jolla, California.
Certified to teach music in the states of California and Wisconsin, Jonathan is also preparing for his National Board Certification in Music for Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood. He has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1998, and currently teaches Choral Music and Color Guard at Cesar Chavez Arts Magnet High School in Stockton.
He is also an invited judge, clinician and choreographer for concert choir, show choir, marching band, color guard, and music festivals across the United States.
Mr. Ulrich is actively involved with several performing and competitive arts education organizations: Music Educators National Conference, the California Music Educators Association, the Wisconsin Music Educators Association, Drum Corps International, Winter Guard International, the Northern California Band Association, and the California Color Guard Circuit.
Committed to the mission of the chorus to "inspire our diverse community through musical excellence and collective pride," Jonathan has been active in serving in the community from the day he came to the Bay Area.
During his time with Cheer San Francisco, he raised awareness and donations for many Bay Area charities that support people with life challenges. He also has been a regular volunteer for the SOMA Bare Chest Calendar, the AIDS Emergency Fund, and the Bowler’s Emergency AIDS Relief (BEAR) fund.
